Sababa

Sababa has a restaurant side, and a grocery side.  My post is purely based on getting takeout from the back of the grocery side.  I have never eaten in the restaurant itself.  I'm would assume though, that since the restaurant is right next door to the grocery store that the food most likely is prepped and cooked in the same kitchen.

My go to order item from Sababa is their falafels.  I ALWAYS get the falafel in pita.  In my opinion, they are the best that I have ever had anywhere in Toronto.  When you order, they are made fresh for you, so the inside is piping hot and the outside is crispy crunchy.  In my pita theres usually 3 falafels, along with lettuce, tomato, some pickles, hummus, tahini, and hot sauce.

The hubby ordered some sort of mystery meat in a pita.  I took a bite, of the mystery meat, and there's definitely some lamb, just not sure if theres any other kind of meat mixed in.  It looks like the meat was a a spit, and it was shaved off using those electric knives.  Also in the pita with the meat was lettuce, tomato, pickles, hummus, tahini, and hot sauce.

Go to Sababa and pick up falafels, some of their dips (hummus, baba ganoush, and there's a tomato eggplant dip that I don't know the name of), and their fresh pitas.
